Facts

Horizons was started in May, 1973 to meet an unmet need in our community - provide services to severely disabled children and adults with a diagnosis of severe or profound mental retardation & associated disabilities who needed specialized residential treatment and care year round.

The Atrium 30 Bed Residence /Arches 10 Bed Residence

· The Atrium primarily serves persons between the ages of birth and  twenty-two years of age.

· Both facilities serve persons who are medically fragile and require 24-hour nursing coverage.

· The Arches is home to residents ages 18 years or older.

· Both facilities are licensed by the NC Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Health Service Regulations as a   Specialized Community Residential Center - ICF/MR.
